Cross-Border Declaration Engagement - FIA & URA

FIA held an engagement with Officers from URA’s Customs Passenger Airport Terminal at the URA Custom offices in Entebbe Airport. The engagement centered on the automation of the requirement for a person carrying outside or entering into Uganda with domestic cash or foreign currency or negotiable bearer instruments equivalent to or exceeding the amount of UGX: 30,000,000 to notify URA. The automation will be achieved through UNODC’s goAML system that will allow for realtime reporting on the cross-border movement of currency. The engagement is part of the collaborative efforts between FIA & URA to enhance AML/CFT compliance & awareness
