Issuance of Guidelines on Targeted Financial Sanctions

The Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) hereby informs all accountable persons that it hereby issues guidelines on Targeted Financial Sanctions. This follows the amendment of Anti-Terrorism Act in 2022, and issuance of the Anti-Terrorism Regulations of 2023.

These guidelines apply to all accountable persons specifically for the purpose of providing measures to be applied by all accountable persons in respect of Targeted Financial Sanctions. These guidelines have been made readily available on the FIA for easy access.

All Supervised Financial Institutions (SFIs) under the purview of the Bank of Uganda (BOU), are advised to read and apply these guidelines together with guidance issued by BOU at
